Seashells for sale

It is strange to those of us who live near the ocean, but there actually are seashells for sale  in many places, both in stores and over the internet – and for a tidy profit too.

If you are a kid who just wishes to make a little money, or perhaps a small time entreprenuer who wants to try out business with low overhead, and you are conveniently located near the sea shore, you may want to try putting seashells for sale too, as you can sometimes sell for upwards of fifty dollars what you find on the beach in minutes time.

Of course, having seashells for sale isn't as easy as all that necessarily. It is important that you live in the right place, for one thing. I don't just mean near the ocean, because many ocean locations won't do. Tide effects whether the seashells will come in shore, as does the part of the world your in, the season, local fishing and boat traffic, and of course, many other factors. Try doing some research to see if anyone else has seashells for sale in your area, and if so, what they charge.

The internet can also be an excellent resource. Over the internet, being the only electronic seashell vendor from your area, if you can market it as a quaint and traditional pastime, you can capitalize on people's sentimental tendencies to make a real killing. And overhead is always low on the internet – web hosting costs dollars a month for a small site without much business. Of course, you do need a computer first.

But the best place to have seashells for sale is on the tourist strips, especially during the spring and summer when they flock in droves. Rather than searching all day for their precious memento of their trip to whatever particular stretch of seashore you inhabit, they will come to your stand and pay big bucks for the stuff you found for free. If you can clean them up, paint them, die them, or make necklaces, so much the better. They will be happy for a souvenier to remember their vacation by, and you will be wealthier by the seashells for sale that you have vended. Sea glass actually might work even better if you are at a beach known for it. This fine colored glass, polished by the sea into smooth rocks, can be used in sculptures and necklaces, and looks absolutely beautiful.
